Dear students

Based on multiple requests, we have now decided to offer a repetition exam for our course 'Introduction to Informatics".

The repetition exam will be held on Tuesday, May 6th from 10:00 - 12:30 in the Turing lecture hall.

The format of the repetition exam will follow the format of the original exam, i.e. the exam will be an in-person, written and closed-book exam, i.e.  the use of the lecture handouts or books during the exam is not allowed. However, we do encourage you to bring a hand-written, double-sided A4 sheet, which you are allowed to use during the exam. Feel free to use this to note specific lecture facts that you find difficult to remember.

Since we have two different student groups taking the exam for a 5 ECTS course (Introduction to Informatics for Jurists) and a 10 ECTS course (Introduction to Informatics for Students of all Faculties), there will again be two different exams formats:

Those students who participate in the 5 ECTS exam ("Introduction to Informatics for Jurists") will have to complete a 90 minute exam with a total of 60 points, including a multiple-choice part that accounts for 15/60 points. The evaluation of the multiple-choice part will account for random choices, which allows us to not assign negative points for wrong choices. In the multiple-choice part, none, all or any number of three options can be correct. For this exam, only the Tuesday lectures are relevant, up to this week's lecture (i.e. Lecture 11). Up to 2.5 bonus points will be assigned for correct solutions to the exercise sheets.

Those students who participate in the 10 ECTS exam (Introduction to Informatics for Students from All Faculties) will have to complete a 120 minute exam with a total of 120 points, including a multiple-choice part that accounts for 30/120 points. The evaluation of the multiple-choice part will account for random choices, which allows us to not assign negative points for wrong choices. In the multiple-choice part, none, all or any number of three options can be correct. Note that the first part of this exam will be identical to the exam above, i.e. students of the 10 ECTS course will have to additionally solve an exam part with a total of 60 points.

The exam registration via WueStudy is already open. Please make sure to register via WueStudy and bring a proof of your registration (i.e. the examination number) to the exam.

To facilitate our planning, we further kindly ask you to express your interest to participate in the exam (and for which course) using the following poll, to be completed until May 2nd:
