H5P content is not displayed or stops working

In some cases, an H5P element may not display correctly, or it may not be possible to navigate beyond certain page numbers in a presentation.

This page provides an overview of a known issue related to the current H5P Core upgrade. The problems described currently occurs knowingly in Course Presentations, Interactive Books, and Maps, but may also affect other H5P content types.

Please note that we, as the WueCampus administration, have no direct influence over the upgrade and modification process of the H5P Core. Adjustments and hotfixes to the H5P Core are made centrally by the H5P project itself and are implemented by us as part of regular system updates.
As a result of these changes, display issues may occur in existing content. Please perform the quick repair steps described below to ensure that your H5P element is displayed completely and correctly again.

The cause of the problem
This behavior is due to changes in the page rendering of H5P elements that were introduced with a core hotfix in early May. H5P content that uses pages or chapters and/or displays content on subpages is particularly affected. It is possible that not all of your H5P activities are affected. The fix described below is non-destructive: Existing student submissions and results will be fully preserved!

Solution / Approach
To make an affected H5P element compatible with the new Core version, please follow these steps:
  • Open the relevant H5P activity in your course.
  • Click the "Edit H5P content" link in the top-right corner..
  • Wait until the editor has fully loaded.
  • Do not make any changes; click directly on "Save changes."
