In satellite technology currently disruptive innovations occur by the emerging distributed, networked, smart satellite systems. In this lecture the foundations of multi-satellite systems will be addressed, including flight dynamics, configurations, control and operations.
Several international guest lecturers contribute to this course; Prof. Dušan Stipanovic (University of Illinois, USA) presents on Multi-Agent systems, Prof. Moshe Guelman (Head of Asher Space Research Institute, Israel) introduces the dynamics of satellite formations and Julian Scharnagl (Head of Space Department at ZfT) shows control concepts for these systems.
In the last part of the lecture, Dr. Paolo Ferri (ESOC Flight Director for Rosetta) talks about advanced operations of satellites, in particular for interplanetary missions.
