What do financial crises, avalanches in granular matter, the spread of epidemics and traffic jams have in common? The lecture "Physics of Complex Systems" aims to show what contributions theoretical physics can make to answer these questions. The aim is to better understand the physics of collective phenomena of composite many-body systems using selected examples. Our course will cover the following topics:

* Crash course in classical probability theory
* Many-body systems on discrete lattices
* Entropy and information
* Phase transitions in equilibrium
* Non-equilibrium phase transitions
* Stochastic thermodynamics
* Spin glasses
* Neural networks
* Deep learning and artificial intelligence
