Enrolment options

The course Intercultural Communication in the EFL Classroom and focuses on the development of communicative skills of EFL teachers in the global professional arena, critical assessment of intercultural barriers for communication in diverse classes, and introduction to transcultural competence and global education. In particular, this course integrates culture and language learning, differentiates national pictures of the world, identifies linguistic and cultural peculiarities between EFL learners, and represents cultures via various texts and media.
A list of studied issues:
- Culture and cultural phenomena as objects for identification, critical
assessment, and further integration in EFL classes.
- Culture-specific, transcultural and global issues as subjects for
implementation in EFL classes.
- English cultures as target cultures. Values, traditions, and customs as
elements of culture.
- A holistic approach to integrating culture and language learning.
- Multiperspective representation of cultures via various texts and
media.
- Global issues as formative elements for EFL students’ development as
global citizens.
