Course description:

This class centers on business and finance within the context of the Chinese economy. The course introduces various relevant topics such as the role of the government and the market, as well as of different types of companies and financial institutions within the Chinese economy. To analyse the observed patterns and dynamics, concepts from economics and management studies are used as explanatory devices.

Competences (skills the students will learn in the course):

At the end of the semester, students will be able to read and understand academic literature on the Chinese economy. Students will further be able to critically assess the role of the state and the market, as well as of different types of companies and financial institutions within the Chinese economy.
