This introductory video will help you get started with WueCampus. It provides a step-by-step guide on how to log in, join courses, find content, submit assignments, set up notifications, and view your grades. In addition, the following FAQ section answers the most common questions about working with WueCampus.
How do I log in to WueCampus?
Log in using your university account via the WueCampus homepage. Depending on your affiliation, select the appropriate option in the login screen:
- Students at the University of Würzburg should select WueLogin.
- Students at the University of Music Würzburg should select HfM Login.
- Guest or function accounts should log in via the Access for external- or function accounts button and then use the login form displayed above. External accounts are not university accounts from other institutions, but rather specially created guest accounts on WueCampus.
Important note regarding vhb courses: Access to the Virtual University of Bavaria (vhb) is available exclusively via the vhb portal. Direct login to WueCampus with a vhb account is not possible.
Use the same login credentials for this login that you use for other university services.
I forgot my password—what should I do?
You can reset your password via the University of Würzburg's user portal. If you encounter any issues with the user portal or your student account, please contact the IT support team at the University of Würzburg's Computer Center.
Students at the University of Music Würzburg: User accounts at the University of Music Würzburg are not managed through WueCampus or the University of Würzburg system. Therefore, it only uses the University of Music Würzburg's services to log in to WueCampus.
If you have any problems with your account, please contact the IT department at the University of Music Würzburg directly.
Which browsers are recommended?
WueCampus works best with the latest versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari oder Edge. Avoid using outdated browsers and keep your software up to date to ensure a secure and stable experience and protect yourself from cyberattacks.
Where can I find my courses?
After logging in, your courses will be displayed either on the dashboard homepage or in the top navigation bar under "My Courses".
I do not see a course - what could be the reason?
- The course hasn't been made available yet
- You are not yet enrolled in the course
- You haven't been admitted to the seminar or lecture in WueStudy yet
- The course starts at a later date
How do I enroll myself in a course?
Open the course using the course search and click on "Enrol me". If an enrollment key is required, it is usually announced by the course instructor during the first session.
Where can I find lecture materials?
The lecture materials are located in the respective WueCampus course within the topic or weekly sections. If individual slides or materials are not visible, this may be due to the following reasons:
- The files have not yet been uploaded
- The materials have not yet been made available to students
Can I download files?
Yes. Click on the desired file. Depending on the file type, it will either:
- open directly in the browser or
- download automatically
A file won't open—what should I do?
Please proceed step by step:
- Check whether the appropriate program is installed on your device
- Try opening the file with a different browser
- Download the file again from WueCampus
- the IT Support team at the Computer Center or
- the course instructor, if the problem with the material is course-related
Where can I find the assignment instructions?
Open the relevant assignment in the WueCampus course. You'll find the assignment instructions above the submission fields and options. The assignment description may:
- be posted directly as plaintext in WueCampus or
- be provided as a PDF file for download within the assignment
How do I submit an assignment solution?
- Open the assignment in the course where the assignment instructions are posted
- Upload your file or paste text directly into the designated field
- Finally, confirm the submission by clicking the corresponding button
How do I know if my submission was successful?
After submission, the following will appear:
- a confirmation message and
- the submission status, for example, "Submitted"
Can I change my submission?
Subsequent changes are only possible if:
- the course instructor allows changes and
- the submission deadline has not yet passed
What happens if I miss the submission deadline?
As a rule, submissions are no longer possible after the deadline has passed. If you encounter problems or have special circumstances, please contact the course instructor as soon as possible.
How do I start a test?
Open the relevant test in the WueCampus course and click on "Attempt quiz". The test will then start directly in your browser.
Please note: Not all tests in WueCampus are graded or part of an exam. Many tests are intended for practice, self-assessment, or attendance purposes. In such cases, if you encounter technical issues, it is usually sufficient to:
- restart the test and
- send a brief message to the course administrator.
What should I do if I encounter technical problems during a test?
Please proceed as follows:
- Immediately inform the course instructor
- Stay calm and restart the browser once you receive confirmation from the instructor
- In non-exam situations:
Take photos or screenshots as evidence of the problem. - In exam situations:
Photos or screenshots are not permitted. Instead, immediately inform the exam supervisor or the responsible instructor.
Can instructors see how long it took me?
Yes. Test times, completion duration, and attempts are stored in WueCampus and are visible to instructors.
Where can I find my grades?
You can find your assessments and grades in the respective WueCampus course under the "Grades" menu item.
When will I see feedback on assignments?
As soon as the course instructor has released the feedback, it will appear directly in the respective assignment activity. Additionally, you can click on the corresponding submission in the grades overview to:
- jump directly to the assignment and
- view the feedback and comments
Can other students see my grades?
No. Your grades and assessments are visible only to you and the course instructors. Other students do not have access to your assessment results or grade overview.
How do I contact lecturers?
Course instructors are usually displayed as contact photos in the WueCampus course room, typically on the right side in the colored course header. Here’s how to do it:
- Click on the contact photo of the course instructor or tutor.
- The person's profile will open
- There you will find, among other things, the email address you can use to get in touch
- Forums for general questions (depending on the course)
- Private messages for personal or individual inquiries
When should I use a forum?
In the standard course, usually only the announcement forum is available. This is intended solely for information from the course instructors and is not meant for questions. If there is also a question or discussion forum, please note the following:
- Ask questions there that are relevant to other students as well
- This way, all participants benefit from the answers
When should I contact WueCampus Support?
Questions about course content, program or schedule should generally be directed first to the course coordinator or instructor. These include, among other things:
- Questions about the course schedule
- Problems with admissions or enrollment
- Questions about passwords or access rights
- Organizational questions regarding general teaching operations
- Problems with the browser or the display of WueCampus
- You can no longer log in to your WueCampus account
- Courses from previous semesters are no longer visible but are urgently needed on a temporary basis
- Error messages or technical malfunctions in WueCampus
How do I report a technical problem correctly?
To help us assist you quickly, please provide as much detail as possible:
- A specific description of the problem or error message
- A link to the page where the problem occurs
- Screenshots of the error, if possible
Are there other places to contact if I have problems?
Yes, depending on the issue, there are other support teams you can contact:
- IT Support at the Data Center
Responsible for general technical issues with the University of Würzburg’s IT services (e.g., Wi-Fi, email, accounts, software). - WueStudy Support
If you have technical issues related to WueStudy and the central student registry, the WueStudy support team can assist you.
How do I receive notifications?
In your profile, you can choose whether you want to receive notifications via WueCampus and/or by email.
Please note: Some courses send important information exclusively via WueCampus. You should therefore not disable notifications entirely and should check WueCampus regularly for new messages.
Where can I find the notification settings?
You can find the settings in:
- User menu (top right of the navigation bar)
- Preferences ->Notification preferences
How can I reduce the number of emails I receive?
If you want to receive fewer emails from WueCampus, you can enable email digests for forums:
Path to the setting:
- User menu ->Preferences ->Forum preferences
- a single email per forum post or
- a daily email
- Full posts or
- a daily email with subjects only
Is there a WueCampus app?
Yes. WueCampus can be accessed via the official Moodle app. The app is available for Android and iOS, though some features are limited.
How do I set up the Moodle app for WueCampus?
- Download the Moodle app from the respective app store
- Launch the app—you will be asked for a QR code from the Moodle platform
- You can find your personal QR code in WueCampus under:
User menu ->Profile - In the profile window, the "Mobile App" section with your personal QR code is located at the bottom right
WueCampus is very slow at the start of the semester—what can I do?
At the beginning of the semester in particular, WueCampus may experience very high traffic. During this period:
- many students are enrolling in their courses simultaneously via self-enrollment
- very high traffic spikes occur due to numerous concurrent server requests
Recommendation:
If you don't have any urgent tasks to complete, try to log in at odd hours or well after classes have started, as WueCampus is often less busy at those times.
On regular days, WueCampus is very slow — what can I do?
If the problem occurs outside of typical peak hours, you can try the following steps:
- Reload the page
- Clear your browser cache
- Try a different browser or device
- Contact support and
- send a direct link to the affected course room or the page where the problem is occurring
- whether only a specific page is affected or
- whether WueCampus is completely unavailable or very slow
Who should I contact if I have technical problems?
- Data Center IT Support
Responsible for central IT issues and infrastructure, e.g.:- User accounts
